The International Association of Certified ISAOs (IACI) Announces Strategic Collaboration with IBM

TITUSVILLE, Fla. & WASHINGTONNov. 1, 2018PRLog — The International Association of Certified ISAOs (IACI), the global “Center-of-Gravity” supporting and connecting Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAOs) worldwide, announces a strategic collaboration with IBM to accelerate information sharing and advance critical infrastructure cyber resilience with the integration of IBM i2® Intelligence Analysis technology into IACINet™, the internationally trusted threat intelligence information sharing and coordinated response platform.

Current continuous monitoring practices represent only one aspect of understanding the multiple layers that must be identified as possible risks to an organization. In today’s active cyber ecosystem to prevent, disrupt threats, and enable actionable strategies, organizations must evolve, replacing traditional reactive security and manual time-consuming analysis strategies with proactive, near real-time intelligence information sharing, and visual intelligence analysis including pre-built analytics. The ability to identify, investigate and uncover connections, patterns and relationships within the massive volume of multiple sourced data brings clarity and visual analysis to complex investigations, reducing investigation time from weeks to days or hours.

The integration of IBM i2® into IACINet™ adds entirely new categories of intelligence analysis for ISAOs and their respective members to benefit, transforming traditional incident response to now being in front of cyberattacks, leveraging  proactive threat analysis, threat hunting and threat actor analysis.  IACINet™  will, for the first time, now be able to fuse external data sources from the Dark web, Social Media and Open Source intelligence with IACI intel data and shared intel from IACI Member ISAOs to produce a more robust actionable intelligence picture. Using a common industry output of IBM i2®  charts and intelligence information used by IACI, IACI Member ISAOs and their Members will further accelerate information sharing within and across critical infrastructure sectors and sub-sectors and improve collaboration with law enforcement, first responders, government and private-sector strategic partners.

“This strategic collaboration between IACI and IBM advances actionable intelligence information sharing by identifying, investigating and uncovering connections, patterns and relationships within the vast amounts of multiple sourced data, bringing clarity and visual analysis to support a comprehensive understanding of the expanding threat landscape…moving from a reactive to a proactive stance,” said Deborah Kobza, IACI President.

“IBM brings a world-class engineering and management acumen to cybersecurity. With IBM as part of our collaborative ecosystem, IACI will have a greater opportunity to mature cyber threat information sharing globally,” said Michael Echols, IACI CEO.

IACINet™ is the “center-of-gravity” for critical infrastructure threat intelligence and defensive measures information sharing connecting nationally and internationally with the public- and private-sector including (ISAOs/ISAO Members, government, security partners, academia, US DHS/US-CERT, NATO / NCIRC (Computer Incident Response Center and NATO Member Countries, 6,000+ private sector organizations, 139 CERTS, and the Public Safety ISAO (representing national and international law enforcement and first responders).

IACINet™, comprised of the globally trusted (GDPR compliant) threat intel information sharing platform (MISP), Perch Security technology providing further visibility into intel incident sightings within and across ISAO critical infrastructure communities, and IBM i2® providing a combination of machine-led analytics and human-led analysis capabilities operationalizes accelerating intelligence information sharing within and across private- and public-sector communities, breaking down long-standing barriers and silos.
