Thruvision Begins US Manufacturing to Meet Growing Demand for Stand-Off People Screening Security Solution

?Thruvision, a provider of next-generation people screening solutions, today announced that it has begun US manufacturing in Melbourne Florida. All Thruvision Systems intended for sale in the Americas will be manufactured at this location. Thruvision has already completed production of multiple units at the facility for shipment to its US government customers.

“Our plan has always been to manufacture systems in the United States, and thanks to increasing demand from government and commercial customers, we have begun sooner than expected,” commented Kevin Gramer, Vice President of Thruvision Americas. Mr. Gramer continued, “We are proud our innovative people screening solution is ‘Made in the USA’ and our Melbourne, Florida location is ideal for serving customers throughout the Americas.”

To manufacture the systems, Thruvision partnered with Mnemonics, Inc., a leader in contract manufacturing for homeland security and defense applications.  Mnemonic’s facilities are ISO 9001 and AS9100 Registered.

The Thruvision stand-off people screening solution uses a proprietary version of passive terahertz imaging technology to address the growing need for safe, fast and effective detection of concealed threats and contraband concealed on a person. Unlike metal detectors, which cannot detect non-metallic threats, the Thruvision solution can detect any concealed objects at distances up to 25 feet.  Unlike airport body scanners, it does not reveal anatomical details and it emits no energy or radiation.

The Thruvision system features a compact, lightweight design, can be easily deployed to meet customer requirements and does not require significant operator training. Thruvision’s technology was recently deployed by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority after it was extensively tested and vetted by the US Transportation Security Administration.
