RiskSense CEO and Arizona IT Executives to Present Cyber Risk Management Best Practices at NASCIO 2017 Annual Conference

RiskSense®, Inc., the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced that State of Arizona CIO Morgan Reed and CISO Mike Lettman along with RiskSense CEO Srinivas Mukkamala, will present a best practices case study at the 2017 National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) Conference on October 3 in Austin, Texas.

Morgan Reed is CIO for the State of Arizona, where he is responsible for driving the state’s technology strategy. Reed has nearly 20 years of information technology experience with large enterprises in the private sector. Prior to joining the State of Arizona, Reed was director of data center services for Expedia, and head of IT governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity at GoDaddy.

Mike Lettman has more than 28 years of experience in government information security and technology. As CISO for the State of Arizona, he is responsible for information security across 130 public agencies, leads the Security, Privacy, and Risk team for the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) Office, and works with state partners including the Multi State Information Sharing and Analysis Center MS-ISAC, Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI. He is an active member of the Arizona Fusion Center and co-chairs the MS-ISAC SCADA work group. Previously, Mike was CISO for the State of Wisconsin and CTO for the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Justice.

Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala is co-founder and CEO at RiskSense. He was part of a think tank that collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on cyber security best practices. He is an expert on malware analytics, breach exposure management, Web application security, and enterprise risk reduction. Dr. Mukkamala was a lead researcher for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S.) and holds a patent on Intelligent Agents for Distributed Intrusion Detection System and Method of Practicing.

Government organizations at the federal, state and local level are focused on meeting increasingly stringent cyber security directives with shrinking budgets and limited resources. This session will explain how the State of Arizona addressed these challenges by adopting a new cyber risk management model that has enabled them achieve a level of cyber threat operations excellence which many private, better funded Fortune companies have yet to accomplish. The speakers will present repeatable cyber security best practices implemented by the State including attack susceptibility and validation, as well as quantification of risks based on operational data.

Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 from 2:00 – 2:45 PM CDT

Lone Star Ballroom A, Level 3 in the JW Marriott, 110 E 2nd St, Austin, Texas
